Fred is the Managing Director of the McClimans Group, an advisory firm which helps businesses and organizations understand change and uncover emerging, unseen opportunities. A start-up veteran, Fred is currently researching (through the 2020F organization) ways to leverage global communities to identify and track events and trends that have the potential to create future disruption or influence global market sectors and behavioral patterns.
Fred has written numerous articles on technology and business/market trends, distributed through a variety of organizations including IDG and CNN Online. Along with his own book on Communications (1991, McGraw-Hill), he was a contributor to SHIFT & RESET: Strategies for Addressing Serious Issues in a Connected Society by Brian Reich (2011, Wiley & Sons).
In 2012, his online chat (#InfluenceChat), which discusses the impact of technology, business, and social trends that influence our individual, business and organizational lives, was listed as one of the 15 Essential Social Media Marketing chats by Mashable. Fred is also a member of the Executive Committee of IntelliFest, and international conference on reasoning and applied AI systems, focusing on the intersection of business rules and changing human behavior.
