Director, Industry Initiatives for the IAB (the Interactive Advertising Bureau)
Susan Borst is the Director, Industry Initiatives for the IAB (the Interactive Advertising Bureau) in New York City. Susan shepherds the IAB Social Media and B2B member committees to identify the key challenges and opportunities for growth facing interactive advertising and its technology platforms/digital segments such as tablets, mobile, digital video, search, interactive TV, audio, mobile, games, etc. She establishes thought leadership within the industry and helps set standards and best practices.
Prior to the IAB, Susan led Account Management and Strategic Business Planning teams at leading NYC advertising agencies (Gotham, Kaplan Thaler Group, Grey Worldwide and Hill Holliday), with top tier clients including Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Verizon Wireless. Honors include two Effie awards for effective campaigns, an AWNY “Grand Good” award for positive portrayal of females in advertising and an Epic Award from the White House Project for culturally changing advertising. Susan was also an independent Social Media Business consultant whose clients included media agencies and marketers with focus on strategy and analytics. In this role, she had the pleasure to help fellow #140MTL speaker, Stan Phelps, launch his new book, “What’s Your Purple Goldfish?” via a riveting tweet chat hosted on Stanzr!
