As the social landscape changes and consumers look to social media channels such as Facebook, Linked In, Twitter and other social sharing sites, businesses must not only invest in understanding where their consumers are, but how to get involved for maximum efficiency and success. <p><em><strong>Montréal, le 1 mai, 2012 </strong></em>&#8211;La conférence 140 caractères (140conference) présente une occasion unique de s&#8217;informer, se former et réseauter autour des médias sociaux. La conference 140 caratères de Montréal s&#8217;inscrit dans une longue suite de conférences données à travers le monde à l&#8217;initiative du gourou des communications digitales: Jeff Pulver. Après des dizaines de villes dans le monde, elle aura lieu pour la première fois a Montréal le 15 mai. 35 conférenciers seront là pour illustrer auprès d&#8217;une audience internationale comment Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. ont bouleversé la donne pour toutes les organisations. Ces grands noms des réseaux sociaux partageront avec les participants leurs succès comme leurs échces. C&#8217;est aussi la première conférence de ce calibre qui reflète la réalité des réseaux sociaux: 50% des présentateurs seront des femmes, un taux record encore trop exceptionnel en 2012.<span id="more-443"></span></p>
<p>Alors qu&#8217;ne écrasante majorité d&#8217;entreprises communiquent désormais à travers Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. pour découvrir de nouveaux marché ou fidéliser une clientèle existante, les ONG les utilisent de plus en plus pour développer leurs communautés et ainsi renforcer les liens avec leurs donateurs. Ceux qui tardent à s&#8217;engager dans cette voie, soit parce qu&#8217;ils pensent ne pas avoir les ressources, soit par peur du changement, prennent de gros risques. La conférence 140 caractères permet aux participants de découvrir de nouvelles possibilités et de connecter avec les experts du domaine de manière durable.</p>
<p>Quand Mila Araujo, Directrice des Assurances Personnelles a Ogilvy et Ogilvy Montréal et organisatrice de la conférence 140 caractères s&#8217;est mise à aider les organismes en lice pour le concours du fonds communautaire Aviva, elle s&#8217;est aperçue que la plupart ne comprenait pas comment utiliser les réseaux sociaux pour améliorer l&#8217;engagement de leurs communautés. Depuis le début, le Fonds communautaire Aviva, une compétition basée sur la participation populaire à travers les médias sociaux,a offert plus de 2,500 000 $ pour soutenir des initiatives communautaires locales au Canada en permettant à tous les Canadiens de non seulement présenter une cause à défendre, mais également de participer activement à changer le monde. Plusieurs des organismes inscrits avaient une en ligne, mais il est clair que leurs communautés n&#8217;étaient pas suffisamment engagées. Selon Mme Araujo: &#8220;Avoir une page Facebook avec plein de fans ou un compte Twitter avec beaucoup d&#8217;abonnés n&#8217;est pas la seule mesure du succès dans les médias sociaux. C&#8217;est l&#8217;engagement, la participation active de la communauté, qui compte plus que sa taille. Si les directeurs des organismes à but non lucratif ne sont pas sensibles aux moyens d&#8217;engager leurs base de support, ils risquent de perdre l&#8217;argent qu&#8217;ils auront investit dans les stratégies de réseaux sociaux.&#8221;</p>
<p>Chacun des 30 <a title="#140MTL Conference #Montreal Speakers" href="http://140mtl.com/140-montreal-speakers/">conférenciers</a> disposera de 10 minutes pour illustrer comment les réseaux sociaux changent nos vies.
